Centre for Automotive Engineering (Automotive Centre) formerly known as Automotive Engineering Centre (AEC) was officially established on 1st February 2008. Prior to the establishment of Automotive Centre, the Automotive Focus Group which was responsible for all the automotive related activities in UMP had been formed. In 2007,the Automotive Focus Group proposed to the UMP top management to develop a centre focusing on automotive engineering research activities to be known as the Automotive Development Centre. 

Automotive Engineering research has been playing a vital role and has become indispensable for the growth of any nation. In this context, research activities are being carried out at the extremes and many problems are yet to be solved. Thus, the pursuit of automotive studies continue to remain the most exciting and challenging areas in furthering the frontiers of knowledge. As expanding the future research in automotive area, Automotive Centre has been promoting and organizing the 1st International Conference On Automotive Innovation And Green Energy Vehicle (AiGEV 2014). AiGEV 2014 has been conduted at Swiss Garden Resort & Spa, Kuantan Pahang, Malaysia on 26 & 27 August 2014. AiGEV 2014 provides a venue for researchers and practitioners in related fields from academia, industry and government to meet in a forum where the latest research results are presented and prospect for future developments are discussed. 

The second conference, AiGEV 2016 was held on 2 & 3 August 2016 at the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) Cyberjaya, Selangor and the third conference, AiGEV 2018 was held on 25 & 26 July 2018 at Hotel Seri Manja Boutique Kuantan, Pahang . Meanwhile, the fourth conference AiGEV 2020 was conducted on 10 & 11 November 2020 virtually due to the pandemic Covid-19. Latest AiGEV 2022 successfully organized on 5 & 6 December 2022 at Langkawi, Malaysia.

This biennial conference will be continue for 6th edition of AiGEV 2024 tentatively will be run on 16 - 18 September 2024 at Putrajaya, Malaysia. We welcome your participation and look forward to see you there.
